FAQ

Do I have to apply to be a member?
No, not for Psych Club. There is an application process for Psi Chi, but not for the Psychology Club.

I missed informationals and/or the first meeting. Can I still become a member?
Yes, just show up to the first meeting that fits your schedule and you can become a member! Just don't forget to pay dues after the 3rd meeting.

Do I have to be a psychology major or minor to be in Psych Club?
No, we are open to all majors.

​What is Psi Chi?
Psi Chi is the international Honor Society in Psychology.

​Do I have to be in Psi Chi to be in Psych Club?
No, you do not have to be in Psi Chi to be in Psych Club, or vice versa!

How much are dues?
Dues are $40 for new members and $30 for active members.

When do we have to pay dues?
You must pay dues by the third meeting.

How do I pay dues?
Dues can be paid during the meetings and are collected by our treasurer. They can also be paid on Marketplace.

When are the meetings?
Meetings are every other Monday at 7pm via zoom .

How many points do I need to be active?
You need 100 points in order to be active and put Psych Club on your resume. Points are earned by attending meetings, profit shares, volunteer events, and socials.

What happens at meetings?
Meetings involve a guest speaker from a psychology field from A&M or the community that offers practical information about research, grad school, and more. There is also a discussion of upcoming events and reminders for the club, and one point is given for attendance at each meeting. We provide FREE DINNER at every meeting. 

Do I have to go to every meeting?
You do not have to go to every meeting. However, you need 100 points to be active and meeting attendance is a great way to earn points.

​Do you provide refunds for dues if I paid but didn't come to many events?
No, sorry. That is why we give each member until the 3rd meeting to decide if they want to pay dues! This time period is an opportunity to decide if they want to commit to us.
