Psi Chi

An International Honor Society for Psychology
Psi Chi is the international Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating & maintaining excellence in scholarship, & advancing the science of psychology. ​

​The purpose of Psi Chi is an international honor society whose purpose shall be to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, &  to advance the science of psychology.​

Requirements

Requirements:
  • Completed at least 9 semester hours of psychology courses with a minimum 3.0 GPA average for those classes
  • Completed 3 semesters or equivalent full time college coursework 
  • Earned a cumulative GPA in the top 35% of their class across the university (this information is not released to students but it is typically 3.4-3.5 GPA)
  • Obtained a Psychology GPA of 3.4
Transfer:  Psi Chi requires these students to complete at least 12 semester credit hours and 9 psychology credit hours at A&M to establish their cumulative and psychology GPA. Once they have completed this they can be considered for Psi Chi.
